Happy one year anniversary of the group!

After this group was officially founded on 1st October 2008, We have been working quite hard on improving Mathematics education and encourage students in Cambodia to work harder and harder to achieve their goals and become outstanding students. Since our group is newly created without any experiences, our first target was just to gathering Cambodian former top high school students to get ideas to contribute to develop education system in Cambodia. Moreover, We just try to gather high school students who want to build their capacity on various subjects especially Mathematics. Third, the successful factor in the first year is we have shared documents and ideas with everyone though it can be seen that most group works were conducted via Internet. However, those were all we could do at the beginning since most of us are students not experts. Starting with just an idea, we finally created this site for the group! Soon after the existence of this blog, we established another discussion site for storing our documents and discussion between members, www.group.google.com/groups/groupcmg. Furthermore, We finally created the third site in Khmer language, www.groupcmg.wordpress.com, for those who have limited language ability.

Actually, we realized that our first year was not perfect, many things still have to be corrected; however, with the experience in the first year, we promise to better all the systems in the group!

Here is our slogan: Commit and Master to make Glories
•Commit : Everyone join
•Master : Everyone learn
•Glories : Everyone succeed

We are setting our targets for the second year, so share your ideas if you want somethings from us. Also, we also would love to cooperate with any organizations, so if you are interested to working and helping us, please contact us.

Project Cambodia (Arts)
When: Monday 10 August 2009 – Tuesday 25 August 2009
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Project Cambodia 2009 (PC09) aims to help renew interest in traditional Cambodian performing arts through the production of two outreach concerts in Phnom Penh. PC09, partnered with Cambodian Living Arts, hopes to innovate the presentation of traditional Cambodian dance and storytelling by incorporating elements of other contemporary performing arts styles. In creating a very dynamic program, the production will particularly appeal to youth and overall provide greater access to exciting arts for the wider community. We envision the establishment of the first annual youth concert in Phnom Penh and celebration of traditional Cambodian arts, which is independently owned by Cambodian youth of diverse social backgrounds.
Objectives

The main objective of PC09 is to identify, encourage, and support Cambodian youth by creating an opportunity for these students to gain leadership and personal development skills and experience.
• Empower youth and give them the tools to positively impact their community and culture.
• Promote the development of performing arts by aiming to provide a solid platform for young Cambodian artists to experiment and expose their talents.
• To equip Cambodian youth leaders with skills to engage in their society in any given discipline.
Requirements
• Students of grade 11 or 12 in any high schools or freshman in any universities.
• Proper level of English proficiency.
• Strongly interested in our project and volunteer to distribute the project.
